Benefits : Relieves tension, heaviness and stiffness in the head, neck and shoulder region.
Contra-Indications : Not for elderly people and those suffering from low/high BP, vertigo or extreme cervical spondylosis.
Awareness : On the stretch of neck and breath. Perform only till the extent you can. Stop if you see reeling sensation or perform only backward rotation
Breathing : Inhale on the downward movement, Exhale on the backward movement
Duration : Repeat 10 times each – clockwise and anti-clockwise.
Steps : Stand with feet at shoulder width distance apart. Place the hands on the hips. Relax the shoulders.
Slowly rotate the head downward, to the right, and then to the left and backward.
Try to touch the ear to the shoulder and chin to the chest but do not strain.
Practice 10 times clockwise and then 10 times anti-clockwise.
People who feel dizzy can only do the backward movement – a half rotation. Refrain from rotating the head downward
